Pearl is our "Double Merle" rescue from a backyard breeder in WV. What is a "Double Merle" you ask? Double Merle pups are born when both parents are Merle. Each puppy has a 25% chance of being a "Double Merle" and they are usually born deaf and/or blind. They usually have little to no pigment in their skin which makes them all white (or mostly white).

Pearl is deaf and practically blind (she can see some light). She was born with no left eye and her right eye is much smaller than it should be.

Her special needs does not slow her down though! Whether she is romping with her pack mates, following us through the house or stealing toys and chewies from the other pups, she gets along perfectly!

This face melts our heart and we love her more that words can express. You can be having the worst day and walk in and see that face and it all just goes away!
