Your Pet's Story or Bio
Hi there! Here’s my rescue story: Mom decided to foster me at the start of the pandemic in 2020. I was already considered a senior dog (approximately 11) and sadly a lot of pups that look like me aren’t adopted as quickly. She was all alone in her apartment and needed a friend. Although she wanted to adopt a dog, she was a junior in college at the time living in an apartment and didn’t know if she could responsibly care for me. Welp, after a month of bonding she knew there was no breaking us apart. I was officially adopted from the Pima Animal Care Center in Tucson, AZ on 4/22/2020. My past is a little unknown but I was found left outside and brought into the shelter by a good samaritan. Based on my first few exams, I may have been used as a bait dog due to my scars and shaved down teeth. I became mom’s ESA since she struggles with anxiety which also helped us stay in our apartment at the time (stupid breed and weight restrictions). Mom and I moved into a house in June 2020 since stairs were hard on my old body and I needed a yard. From there, I helped her graduate from the University of Arizona in May 2022. After graduating, we road-tripped together all the way to Chicago, IL so mom could attend graduate school. I know this hasn’t been an easy ride for mom since adopting an older dog can be extra challenging. Shortly before leaving AZ, we found out I had oral cancer. Thankfully, I received the necessary surgeries to remove it and I’ve been cancer free since! I’m thankful she never gave up on me through the ups and downs. I need her as much as she needs me!
