Your Pet's Story or BioArielle is a one-year-old black German Shepherd who was abandoned and is now being cared for by the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria. Arielle has a rare disorder called "dens aplasia." The first vertabrae of her spine is not fully formed and is not providing adequate stability for her spinal cord. This condition has gotten worse as she has grown and now it is so severe that she is unable to walk or even go to the bathroom on her own. She needed an expensive but very dangerous surgery that brought with it the possibility of a full recovery for her. Approximately 30% of dogs don't survive the surgery and those that do have a 75% chance of making a full recovery! The Hoffman Company made a generous donation to AWLA's Sarah's Fund to give Arielle that chance of a totally normal life. She is now recovering from surgery and we are all waiting to see how she does! Donate to Arielle to support care for more animals like Arielle.
