Short story about your dog
If we were meeting in person I’d be shivering in the corner farthest away from you. This is the only time my mom says the internet may be “less scary” than in person. The name’s Winnie!

My mom says this title doesn’t define my future, but it explains my past. I am a “Mill Momma”. I was used for breeding for anywhere between 2-6 years; they never really kept records on me, or took care of me for that matter, so my new human mom and I don’t know how old I am. We celebrate my “gotcha day” instead of birthday- it’s coming up on one year in May. When I met my human mom I was matted, full of dirt, teeth starting to rot, and I had an area on my back where hair wouldn’t grow because that’s where I rubbed up against our cage. I say “our cage” since they had 3 of us dogs in there. My paws had never felt the grass, my soul had never felt love. My heart knew fear and well, it knew breeding.

I’ve been “out” for 9 months and all I can say is thank you God for bringing me to my new life. My tail is no longer between my legs and I no longer shake with my usual humans. Instead I’ve decided to wiggle my butt when playing with my siblings as a sign of resilience. Some days even my tail starts to wag ❤️
