K9 Bane retired from police work a true crime fighting hero. He was a dual purpose narcotic K9 and served for almost 7 years, before retiring in 2020. About a year ago he started to show symptoms of degenerative myelopathy (DM), a devastating and terminal nerve disease, that is like ALS in humans. He was diagnosed in June 2022. Bane is 11 1/2 years old, but still showing his supporters that he won't give up. He's also working hard to raise awareness and help other families fight DM too. K9 Bane lives with his handler Holly and her family. With the help of a worldwide "village," we are making sure Bane's final days are filled with love and happiness!
