Since 1957, AHS has believed that every pet deserves a good life. With the vision to end animal suffering, homelessness and needless euthanasia, AHS rescues, heals, adopts and advocates for sick, injured and abused animals here in our community.
We’ve saved 80,000 additional lives over the past five years thanks to spay/neuter outreach, our Pet Resource Center that helps keep struggling pets in homes, behavior rehabilitation and new medical programs like Mutternity Suites, Bottle Baby Kitten UCU and Parvo Puppy ICU.
What began as a small shelter, has since grown to become nationally recognized, AAHA accredited and the state’s largest animal welfare, protection and the state’s designated animal responder agency.
