I knew my humans needed me.
Their version of our gotcha day eight years ago is that they rescued me. I let them believe that.
I was not in an ideal situation - no shelter for all us dogs, and someone threw food out to us all to scrabble for...
But, hey, I was with my pack.
Until the day my humans came.
While all of my family was barking like crazy, I sat real calm, willing them to pick me. And they did.
It wasn't all smooth sailing. After all, I had to train them to be part of my husky/ shepherd pack, catering to my dismissive, cat-like demeanor. I had to learn manners.
In the end, though, it turned out all right. They feed me, brush me, walk me, try to play with me.
But I take care of them. It's what I do. They needed me.
