A little about me...
Two months after we adopted Petals (A&B Prissy) we noticed her left eye was totally dilated and she acted like she was in pain if we touched her head. The vet examined her and mentioned "brain tumor" and referred us to a neurologist. We were stunned! She said before spending $6,000 on an MRI (just to see if it WAS a brain tumor + potentially $10,000-$20,000 for treatment!) we should first see a canine ophthalmologist. That doctor determined it was an inflamed optic nerve, that can sometimes be caused by a brain tumor. It can also be caused by Taxoplasomosis, a parasitic infection. She asked about her history and we told her that she was rescued by A&B as a stray in Oklahoma. She said that strays can eat some funky stuff when they're starving and that may have caused it. So she treated her for Taxo and said to "wait and see." She lost her vision in that eye, but it's been 5 years now and no further symptoms of a brain tumor. We feel so blessed...even after only having her for 2 months, we would've done whatever it took as she had captured our hearts! I thought it was so cute that a canine ophthalmologist would have a human eye chart on the door I just HAD to take a picture. She truly looked like she was trying to read that chart (with her remaining good eye!)
