Share your setter’s story and why he/she should be our next Cover Star!
Here I am at an A and B picnic having a ball, just look at my smile! That was about 5 years ago. (my mom likes this photo what can I say?). In 2011, when I met mom, the first thing I did was give her a gentle standing hug. I'm one of those hugging setters who has to get several hugs per day, good thing my mom shares the same trait! I'm now almost 15 in human years, haven't heard much the last year, that's okay, who wants to listen to my Dad's noisy Coon Hounds that ruin a setter's stunningly silent point? geez. I'm still graceful and just last year I could jump in floating weightless arches over the coon hounds' backs to evade their clumsy play tactics! Setters are just so elegant, even us farm boys!
Walks around the farm are slower and shorter, but I can still drop my old bones down and roll in the hay field. When I can get my play energy up and do short leaping runs in circles... that makes my parents so happy! I still love to go for car rides, too! Mom says we are all gracefully letting go of things we used to do. We couldn't be happier together and when I mean together, I mean asleep on mom's lap in the big chair, you can't get closer than that. Thank you, A and B English Setter Rescue we have known true love and happiness.
