Maggie is 16-17 years old. She came to us early 2016 as a “return” to A&B after five years and the birth of a new baby. Maggie is a living testament to why SENIORS ARE SPECIAL. She came with baggage, she was lost and confused, resulting in a broken heart, however, she also brought a heart full of love to share with a family that would take the time to understand her fears, what she was trying to communicate, and her loves. One of her loves is the National Cherry Festival, one would think the trees bloom just for her. Yes, she does sometimes have storm issues, but she has learned that’s okay and how to ask for her thunder shirt and meds if needed. She loves to be rocked, and she loves to just be her sometimes snarky, bed-hogging self. She would love to be the poster girl for all the joys a senior adoption can bring to a family. No way were we going to let her be hurt again by having to learn a new home. She brings joy everyday, sometimes that means shaking my head at the newest antic. She has stolen numerous delivery pizzas from her skin sister’s roommates, but nothing beats a cauliflower pizza crust in her world. The world is brighter with Miss Maggie in it. Please open your heart and home to the joy of a senior just like her, it is so worth the time to understand their special needs.
