What can I say about Georgie? From the first day that I saw him on Above and Beyonds rescue site, I was in complete awe of his unique color pattern. Unsurprisingly, many were interested in adopting him. Georgie was being fostered a little over an hour away in Michigan. I drove down with my Mother and her American Bulldog mix, Precious. Upon arrival, everyone fell for Georgie, especially Precious, she had the biggest smile that my mother had ever seen, and her and Georgie began kissing on each other and playing like lifelong friends. With me he was so gentle! He’d jump up on my for some loving and I could barely feel him. While he was laying on the couch, my mother bent over and asked if he would like her to be his Grammy, and his little tail just went thumping enthusiastically on the sofa. After I received his foster Mama’s blessing to adopt him, it took about three weeks to complete the adoption process, and every day since February 22 has been a blessing. He is just a love bug. He can be as subtle as placing his head on my knee, or as obvious as crawling into my lap. When we visit my Mother, he and Precious play constantly, to the point where Precious has actually lost 4# thanks to George. When he plays with a puppy, he lays on his back and allows the pup to jump on him. Georgie is so gentle with children, he leans on my 48# niece and she hold his paws like they’re dancing. Georgie’s favorite thing in the world however is birds, yeah, go figure. He finds them in bushes, trees, and roofs and will happily spend the afternoon chasing them from branch to branch, and if they stop flying, he barks to motivate them, with that tail going 100mph all the time. Mom and I constantly say that there isn’t a day that goes by where He doesn’t make us smile or laugh. It’s months of adventure with Georgie and I thank Above and Beyond for my partner in crime, looking forward to many years ahead.
