Share your setter’s story and why he/she should be our next Cover Star!
This is Junior with his toy in the underwater treadmill at La Cantar Animal Hospital. Junior was an owner surrender. We never did figure out why; he has the most amazing, outgoing disposition and loves everyone. He is also super smart. While in foster care, it became apparent he was having problems with his tummy. We got that sorted out, and then one day he started showing hip pain. Xrays showed early hip dysplasia. His foster mom being a vet helped solve this problem. He became a permanent member of the Thompson family, and he had both hips fixed by Dr. Don Hulse and Dr. Tige Witsberger at Mission Veterinary Specialists. Foster mom being a rehab doc, he did all his exercises like it was one big game. Today he is pain free and learning the basics for obedience and agility. We haven't decided what he is going to do for his "career"; right now he enjoys the title of social butterfly and accompanies his siblings to their agility trials and enjoys seeing all the new people and dogs.
