Pet's Story or Bio
I'm an Australian Cattle Dog (Blueheeler) mix who rescued my human back in 2012 when I came to live in Washington, DC from somewhere in Southern VA. I'm feisty around other girl dogs, so my mama calls me the "Regina George" (Mean Girls) of the neighborhood--hence the reason I wear pink lights on my harness. When I'm not on patrol around Glover Park or Cathedral Heights, I love to sit on people's feet to keep them warm or lounge on the sofa or one of my three dog beds.
True to my Cattle Dog roots, I love to round up large things like garbage trucks and WMATA buses, so my human has to hold tight to my leash when one rumbles close by. My greatest dream deferred is catching one of the many squirrels I chase up trees and watch as they taunt me from the branches.
I can be quite the diva sometimes especially when I grab sticks from my BFF George, a large black Lab. He knows I'm the pack leader so he just looks for a new stick instead of challenging my quick moves.
It's great to be a dog in DC, with so many cool places to explore and so many people and other fur friends to meet. You can follow me @dc_cattledogstory.
