Georgia
Your Pet's Story
Georgia earned her name after being rescued and transported from Lowndes County, GA in January 2019. Just one week after Christmas, this beagle/pointer mix who was only 12 weeks old was abandoned at a truck stop in Valdosta and was next on the shelters list of dogs to be euthanized. I knew the second that I met her at a
Florida Pointer Rescue adoption event, she was meant to be with me in her forever home. Georgia has a fierce personality, and loves to spend all of her extra energy chasing birds, squirrels, walking on her hind legs for treats from the furbo, and giving her half brother, Niles, a senior yorkie a run for his money. She can shred her toys like no other (hence her nickname “shredder”) and can snuggle up to you for hours when she knows you need a little extra love and affection. You often hear that when you rescue a dog, you don’t only save the dog, the dog saves you; and that’s the total truth.
Georgia filled a spot in my heart that I didn’t know was missing until she was part of my family.
Georgia also loves to socialize with other dogs. She attends day care at a local pet resort where they have made it her job to help new day care fur babies warm up and learn to love life as much as her. She’s the first friend to any new campers, and she’s proud of it too!
