Your Pet's Story
River was adopted from the Halifax Humane Society last year. She was located in the Halifax river on a one of the coldest days, 27° . River about froze to death that awful day if it had not been for a phone call to the police and animal control locating her. River was taken to HHS where she was immediately given medical attention and after 90 minutes, her body temperature rose enough that it would finally register. 3 days after River’s astounding rescue, I saw her for the first time and we instantly bonded. I placed a hold on River that day and for two weeks, visited her until February 2, 2018 when I got the phone call that River was ready to go home. Little did we know how both our lives would change forever that day. River is now 19 months old and so very loved and spoiled. River has also become my service dog and the unofficial Daytona Beach Police Department mascot where she has so many Aunts and Uncles that unconditionally love her and look forward to her visits. If you have met River, you then also understand how thankful she is for all the efforts that went in to saving her life that horrible cold July morning. This happy, loving, sweet girl will cover you with hugs and kisses every chance she gets.
